Ok firstly, what an odd name for a restaurant. I mean I get the name is to the point, but it just seems a little uninventive. Secondly, located in hardware lane, I hate that restaurants actually hire people to stand out front and try to sell their business. It's as bad as Lygon st, and on principle I usually avoid any restaurant that does this. As it was a Friday night and I was starving and every restaurant was just as pushy, I gave in and just went into the first place that looked like it had food I could eat. We sat inside and it was pleasantly quiet. The outside hustle and bustle usually would appeal to me, but that night I couldn't really care for noise, I just wanted food and some peace.
Inside was quite nice. Service was alright. My seafood risotto was actually really good, it was very tasty and I ate every bite.
My boyfriend got the beef bourginoun but found it was missing something in the flavour and the beef was a little tough, but otherwise not bad.
The dessert was where I was impressed. Bread and butter pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla icecream. I haven't seen this on a menu anywhere! I hadn't had this since I was a kid! It was soo delicious. The word butter is mentioned twice in the name, ofcourse it was the obvious choice for me! It was delicious! Crunchy on top, soft on the inside. Buttery goodness... mmmm
