Mamasita

This little gem is one of my favourite hangout/eateries/drinks places in Melbourne. Located at the Paris end of Collins st just near Parliament station it is perfect if you are drunk and need to get home via public transport (there is also a taxi rank across the st. I think they situated this place in this location for a reason!). Unfortunately for me, it is also everyone else in Melbourne's favourite place also! It is a very trendy upstairs Mexican den consisting of bar tables and stools, some dining tables, including tables overlooking Collins st, and the decor just oozes cool. If you haven't been here you must be either 1. Not living in Melbourne. 2. Living in a cave. Just check out the line on a Tuesday night...

The Margarita's here are amazing.. I could go just to drink. Luckily for my liver they also have a yummy range of foods, and if you are just going for a drink you AT LEAST have to have the corn. It is beyond amazing!

I can't even look at this without twitching. It's like crack on a stick. So addictive!

The food here is also pretty damn good, and different to most other Mexican places.

Tostaditas de pollo
Very yummy little chicken packages to start!

Pato Adobado al horno - Roasted duck breast, confit leg, red chilli adobo, pickled jalepenos and coriander.

Cerdo En Nogada - Mulato rubbed pork fillet, walnut sauce, pomegranate and Tequila soused raisins
Both mains were incredibly yummy. We got steamed rice to go with them. mmmmmm...
